The Event Carbon Calculator follows the methodology outlined in Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ (DEFRA) Voluntary Reporting Guidelines and uses up to date emission factors. The calculations for emissions are based on conversion factors sourced from DEFRA, World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WRI/WBCSD), The Greenhouse Gas Protocol and CarbonNeutral Company.

The Event Carbon Calculator uses emissions factors provided in CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent), and include CO2, CH4 and N2O, weighted according to their global warming potentials (GWP).

The results of the Event Carbon Calculator are believed to represent reasonable approximations and should only be used for estimating the Ecological Footprint or Greenhouse Gas Emissions of your activity. The Event Carbon Calculator should be used as a guide only and not as a substitute for formal professional advice.
